Michael Houar is the President of North State Solar as well as the Responsible Managing Owner. He has been a General Contractor for over twenty-five years and has also owned an electrical contracting firm. He has been involved with installation of Photovoltaic projects in California and Hawaii for the past several years. He earned his MBA from Hawaii Pacific University and earned an MA from University of Hawaii, Manoa in Political Science. His work in the remodeling industry with appropriate technology has incorporated passive solar principles and energy efficiency solutions into dozens of construction projects during the past two decades. Michael has also served as the President of Hawaiian Repair and Remodeling, Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii, and has designed and installed projects in Honolulu, Maui, Lanai, and Northern California.
Hans Stullken is Vice-President of Business Developtment and brings a wide-range of solar experience to North State Solar Energy. He got his start in the solar industry as an installer and later a Project Manager for one California’s premier commercial solar installation companies, Solaris. Here he oversaw the installation of over 4.5MW of solar PV. He later moved to Arizona where he built out the solar division for One Way Solar System. Here he helped jump start sales, hired and trained installation crews, ran day-to-day business, developed marketing campaigns, created an inventory control system, and personally designed and permitted all the solar systems. After two years in Arizona, Hans decided to move back to Northern California and take a job for DC Power Systems, the Country’s largest solar equipment distributor. At DC Power Systems he gained a deep understanding of products, built relationships with manufacturers, and helped create unique financing packages that lower the upfront costs to install solar.
Arthur Hernandez is Construction Superintendent and has been active in Project Management for over 15 years. Arthur has worked in the field in direct design and installation of Photovoltaic Solutions for residential and agricultural systems. Working with his crews and managing construction projects throughout Northern California, Arthur brings a commitment to customer satisfaction and attention to details that define his projects as unique and trouble free, overcoming challenges inherent in remote project situations.
